The startup Tupu obtains €3 million to transform mushroom cultivation and expand the market

Tupu, an agricultural technology startup based in Berlin dedicated to transforming the mushroom cultivation industry through its decentralized cultivation system, recently announced the obtaining of $3.2 million (around 3 million euros) in a funding round. This round was led by FoodLabs and Zubi Capital, with the participation of Clear Current Capital, FoodHack, IT-Farm, Coast Cap and distinguished Business Angels from the food and technology sectors, such as Roger Hassan and Gil Horsky.

The startup will use these funds to expand its production, supply key players in the retail and food service sectors, and advance space efficiency, as well as its automation technology. The approach of the initiative offers consumers sustainable, farm-fresh products at competitive prices.

Since opening its first farm in November 2022, Tupu has supplied more than three tons of mushrooms per month to several customers, including local wholesalers and Michelin-starred chefs.
